British Columbia land transfer tax calculator
Property transfer tax is 1% of fair market value up to $200,000; 2% from $200,000 to $2,000,000; and 3% above $2,000,000, plus a further 2% on residential value above $3,000,000. An additional property transfer tax applies to foreign buyers in specified areas. British Columbia also has an additional property transfer tax for foreign buyers in specified areas.

How this is calculated
Payments. A Canadian fixed-rate mortgage is compounded semi-annually, so the effective rate for each payment period is i = (1 + annual rate ÷ 2)2/f − 1, where f is the number of payments per year (12, 26, or 52). The payment is P = L × i ÷ (1 − (1 + i)−n), where L is the mortgage amount and n is the total number of payments. At 0% interest the payment is simply L ÷ n.
Land transfer tax. The tax is tiered: 1.0% up to $200,000; 2.0% up to $2,000,000; 3.0% above the last bracket. Each bracket applies only to the portion of the price inside it.
