Our approach

Mortgagor.ca is a publisher of general information. We aim to collect as little personal information as possible, and we handle what we do collect in line with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy law.

What we collect automatically

Like most websites, our hosting and analytics providers record standard technical data when you visit — for example your approximate region, device type, browser, referring page, and the pages you view. We use this in aggregate to understand which guides and calculators are useful. We do not use it to identify you personally.

Cookies and analytics

We use privacy-respecting web analytics to count visits and understand how the site is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time; the guides and calculators on this site work without them.

Third-party forms and links

Some pages link to, or embed a form from, a third-party service such as a mortgage or loan matching provider. If you choose to submit your information there, that information is collected and used by that third party under its own privacy policy, not ours. We encourage you to read the privacy policy and consent language on any third-party form before you submit it. We may receive a commission if you apply through such a link.

What we do not do

We do not sell personal information. We do not rent, trade, or share mailing lists. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Your rights and contact

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it by emailing hello@mortgagor.ca. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.
